NUTSHELL@CE
NUTSHELL@CE develops solutions to make public transport a genuine alternative to the car in rural and peripheral regions of Central Europe – contributing to the EU goal of cutting transport carbon emissions by 90% by 2050, and to keeping structurally weaker regions from depopulating. The project addresses three key challenges: multimodal access to main public transport corridors (including micro e-mobility such as e-bikes), introducing network-wide clock-face timetables along the lines of the Integraler Taktfahrplan used in Switzerland, Sweden or the Netherlands, and closing historically grown gaps and system breaks in cross-border public transport. Within the project, ThAEP supports the Municipality of Crawinkel with project management, working alongside partners from eight Central and South-Eastern European countries.
