Seminar “Digitalisation in Vocational Training”
From 9 to 13 December 2025, the Thuringian Agency for European Programmes (ThAEP) ran an international course on “Digitalisation in vocational training – opportunities and challenges” for trainers and teachers from Ukraine.
At the European Information Centre of the Thuringian State Chancellery, participants exchanged views with representatives of the state administration on global digitalisation trends. Modern technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence, as well as digital learning platforms, were presented and tried out in practice, complemented by workshops and group work to analyse and further develop participants’ own training concepts.

At the Bildungswerk für Gesundheitsberufe, participants discussed digitalisation in medical vocational training over coffee and a festive get-together with their hosts, comparing developments in Germany and Ukraine.

A particular highlight was a visit to the Seniorenwerk gGmbH placement site, where participants saw first-hand how digital solutions are already being used in day-to-day care practice. Overall, the course placed a strong emphasis on exchanging experience between German and Ukrainian partners and on developing concrete digital teaching modules and strategies for use in participants’ own practice.

The course made an important contribution to strengthening digital skills, building international networks, and advancing vocational education within a European context.
This project is co-funded by the European Union.
