Erasmus+ Connects Thuringia and Western Ukraine: ThAEP Working Visit to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk

MobiT(h)ür

In August and September 2026, the chairwoman of the Thuringian Agency for European Programmes e. V. (ThAEP), Dipl.-Ing. Liliana Hrytsyshyn, visited partner institutions in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions as part of the Erasmus+ project “MobiT(h)ür – Mobility Without Borders”.

The visit focused on evaluating past mobilities, preparing further placements, and further developing cooperation with Ukrainian educational and higher-education institutions.

At Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Professional College (IFMFC), the next steps in cooperation on vocational mobility were discussed. As a special guest, Liliana Hrytsyshyn also took part in the ceremony welcoming new students and addressed the incoming students with a personal welcome speech.

At Lviv Higher Professional School of Food Technologies, previous Erasmus+ mobilities were evaluated together with Director Nataliia Skliarchuk, teaching staff and students, and new mobility activities and their implementation were coordinated.

Another important item on the programme was a working meeting at Lviv Polytechnic National University with the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Nataliia Melnykova, together with Prof. Oksana Yurynets and Prof. Nataliia Lesko. Discussions focused on international mobilities, joint education and research projects, European funding programmes, and prospects for further institutional cooperation.

The working visit strengthened existing partnerships and opened up new prospects for cooperation between Thuringia and Western Ukraine. “MobiT(h)ür – Mobility Without Borders” thus combines vocational qualification, international exchange, and sustainable European educational cooperation.

This project is co-funded by the European Union.
